Andrei Vasilevskiy's Weakness Finally Revealed
In the current playoff format, the Leafs are once again on a collision course with the formidable Lightning in the first round. This marks the second time in two years we'll witness a thrilling matchup, but it also means a major Cup contender will bow out in the first round. The question is, who will it be?
During yesterday's game between Tampa Bay and the New York Rangers, an interesting observation surfaced that could potentially shift the odds in the Leafs' favor as the playoffs approach.
Last night, the Rangers notched three goals in the first period.

All three of these goals targeted the blocker side.
But there's more to the story.
In the 6-3 triumph, the Rangers' final two goals were also scored on the blocker side.
While it might be a coincidence, every detail is crucial when trying to uncover weaknesses in the world's top goalie.
If this observation proves accurate, the Leafs will undoubtedly attempt to seize the opportunity. Armed with a roster of snipers, targeting the blocker with precise shots could be a winning strategy against Tampa.
Of course, they'll need to outmaneuver the defensemen before aiming for the blocker. But given the depth of the Leafs' lineup, it wouldn't be surprising to witness a few goals scored using this approach.
