As reported by Mark Masters, Ilya Samsonov has left Leafs practice today after taking an awkward shot. Samsonov appeared to be talking to training staff before exiting practice. In the video, you can hear someone say that Samsonov took a shot in the upper body.
Samsonov is expected to be the Leafs starting goaltender this season, with the placement of Matt Murray on LTIR. After arbitration, Samsonov is on a one-year deal with the Leafs this season. Samsonov recently struggled with a neck injury during last years playoffs, which saw him miss time.
