In tragic news, the father of a Maple Leafs prospect has passed away.

Timo Hirvonen, the father of Leafs' prospect Roni Hirvonen, passed away at the age of 49, as announced by TPS Turku today.

Timo's Legacy
Hirvonen had a lengthy hockey career in the Finnish LIIGA, marked by his jersey retirement by his former club the Espoo Blues. Leafs prospect Roni will hope to carry that legacy on to the NHL.
