A former Leafs goaltender prospect has decided to leave the NHL, signing a contract with the Russian KHL.
Leaf Goaltender Signs KHL Deal
Dylan Ferguson, former Toronto Marlie goaltender recently announced that he has signed with Dinamo Minsk in the KHL. Ferguson played 5 games with the Marlies last season, along with 8 games with the Belleville Senators and 2 games with the Ottawa Senators in the NHL.
In his two NHL games with Ottawa, Ferguson posted a .940 save percentage and 5 goals against.

At 25 years old, Ferguson still has a long career ahead of him. While the KHL is a tough league to crack, Ferguson has demonstrated he has the skills to do so.
With more players leaving the NHL for European leagues, the KHL and its European counterparts will only become tougher to crack.
