The Leafs defenseman was integral in their first playoff series victory since 2004 and looks to help the team to their first cup since 1967.

Schenn Has Now Been Told Where He Stands as a Maple Leaf

Luke Schenn certainly has made an impression on the Maple Leafs. After being drafted by them 5th overall in 2008, Schenn finally suited up for his first playoff game as a Leaf this year.

Schenn was a trade deadline acquisition by the Leafs costing them only a 3rd round pick which worked out well for the Leafs. So well, they have shared what they want to do with him long term.

Schenn brings a playoff style of hockey to every single game and amplifies it in the playoffs. Schenn also knows what it takes to win a cup having won back-to-back cups with Tampa in 2021 and 2022.

Schenn's leadership and style of play will be very important for the Leafs if they go all in next year with next year potentially being their final shot with the current core.

As seen on Maple Leafs Insider - Leafs officially inform pending UFA that they want him back in Toronto next season; now it's about finding a number that works
