In breaking news today, Arber Xhekaj will miss the remainder of the Montreal Canadiens' season as he is set to undergo shoulder surgery.

Arber Xhekaj is one of the most promising young defensemen in the NHL, let alone for the Montreal Canadiens franchise. While he had his ups and downs this season, he still had some success given his age and development, most notably with 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points in 44 games, and a plus-6 rating.
However, the good news this season has come to an end for the big defenseman, as he will miss the remainder of the Montreal Canadiens season as he undergoes left shoulder surgery. The Montreal Canadiens released the following statement on the matter.
Defenseman Arber Xhekaj will undergo season-ending surgery to his left shoulder tomorrow. He is expected to be ready for next season.
Having Xhekaj back at the beginning of next season is the most important thing, as the Canadiens are not slated to make the playoffs, so the rest of this year doesn't really matter. Using the extra week or so to recover will be great for Xhekaj down the line.
We wish him the best in his recovery this offseason!
