Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella had a chat with the media today, and dove right into the Carter Hart situation, revealing what the team knew beforehand about his suspension. They weren't exactly blindsided by it as we thought. The organization had a feeling it was coming.

Yet Tortorella didn't stop there. He went on to address the Flyers' goaltending situation head-on. He didn't mince words when it came to defending his goalie tandem of Samuel Ersson and Felix Sandstrom.

Let's face it: things got thrown into a really weird situation when we lost Carter. But having said that, we had discussions in the summer about the situation w/Carter, & figured something was gonna go on, right? We've got to be honest about it.

Torts admitted where the team's plan went wrong and why it didn't quite pan out. Now, they're shifting gears and looking towards the next plan, with the potential addition of newcomer Ivan Fedotov to the mix.

I made the decision I'm gonna live or die w/Erss when I played him all those games. I did not have the confidence, & it's certainly not a criticism, it's just my assessment of Sandy -- I made the decision that we're going with Erss. I've played the hell out of him. He's tired.

The Flyers playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread, sitting just one point out of a playoff spot with only four games left in the season.
Let's see if they can pull off a last-minute playoff push and make some magic happen.
