Ryan Whitney Takes a Shot at Kyle Dubas in Latest Rant

Ex-NHL player Ryan Whitney didn't shy away from sharing his opinions on Dubas and his exit from the Leafs on a recent episode of the Spittin' Chicklets podcast.

Despite Dubas declaring during his final press conference as a member of the Maple Leafs that he would only take a sabbatical or continue working for them, subsequent developments suggest a different narrative.

Only a few days following the announcement that his contract would not be extended and he that he subsequently would not be continuing in the NHL, there were speculations about him being a candidate for a position with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

While Dubas' words originally seemed sincere enough, Whitney's statement still rings true, it seems Dubas' actions have not been matching his words and that's never a good sign.

Given these recent developments regarding Dubas and the Penguins, the idea that Dubas may have been lying about his departure from the NHL becomes a lot more plausible, and given what we know about Whitney as a person and a player, he doesn't shy away from giving people the cold hard truth, and his words definitely have some weight to them.
