Friction Between Matthews and Treliving?
In his article, Berger wrote that there could be some tension between the Leafs and Matthews.
The player is looking for a record-breaking contract, but the Leafs are hesitant to commit, as Matthews never succeeded in the playoffs and wasn't always ready to up his game for the big moments.
If these frictions continue, the Leafs aren't successful in the playoffs once again, and Matthews' camp still won't budge, this could leave Treliving no choice but to look elsewhere.
