Good Friend of Sheldon Keefe Calls the Leafs Soft

The Toronto Maple Leafs are once again in the middle of a drama, and this time, it involves former teammate of Sheldon Keefe and ex-convict Mike Danton.

Mike Danton Targets Maple Leafs Prior to Second Game of Quarter Finals

Danton, who played alongside Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe under controversial juniors coach Dave Frost, has recently released a statement discussing the team's playoff struggles and controversies.

Thanks for all of the derogatory comments and messages about a mistake I made almost twenty years ago. I almost forgot that I had gone to jail.

I'm not going to comment on Wes McCauley, Dave Frost or Sheldon Keefe because you'll either complain that it's rehearsed rhetoric or won't believe it unless it fits the narrative you want it to.

Instead, I'm going to comment on WHY the Leafs actually lost that game, and what their issuehas been for the last several years.

They're soft as baby shit!

That's it, that's all! Their top players have no jam, play on the outside and are more interested in flopping around on the ice than getting to dirty areas and paying the price. It surprises me that a coach whom has all the knowledge and assets afforded to him still cannot address the issues at hand.

I, for one, am not a Leafs fan at all. However, I am a hockey fan even though my interest is dwindling. It would be great for hockey if the Leafs could pull their heads from their asses at some point and win a Cup.

That is not going to happen with Matthews, Marner, JT, Nylander, etc leading this group. They don't have what it takes. Any hockey person knows this, and the only people that are living in a fantasy world are the diehard fans that rely on hope and wishfulness. Therefore, instead of dragging up the past from 20-30 years ago (that is also false in almost every regard) in an attempt to deflect away what the actual issues are, deal with them head on. Then, maybe you'll make some headway!

Many Leafs fans are already aware of the alleged bias of NHL referee Wes McCauley against Toronto. After their recent defeat to Tampa Bay, the issue of McCauley's bias has become a hot topic of conversation. Some speculate that McCauley has a personal vendetta against the Leafs, and with Danton's statement, the controversy has only intensified.

Fans have delved into the connection between Danton, Keefe, Frost, and McCauley. They discovered that Frost is McCauley's brother-in-law, leading some to believe that McCauley's refereeing during games where the Leafs play could be influenced by his grudge against Keefe for testifying against Frost during the player mistreatment trial.

Despite the criticism thrown his way, Danton appears unaffected, and his statement sheds some light on why the Leafs are struggling to find success in the playoffs. As the drama unfolds, it remains to be seen how it will impact the team's performance on the ice.
