It's finally confirmed: the Toronto Maple Leafs made a decision regarding the situation of Matt Murray.
The Verdict Is In
Murray, 29, will be placed on the LTIR for next season.
This puts an end to the trade rumors circulating since the Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs.
Per Chris Johnston,
"The #leafs announce that Matt Murray is out indefinitely and will be placed on LTIR for the 2023-24 season."
This will release a lot of pressure on Brad Treliving, who had the Leafs way over the cap limit.
Unless a major change happens, Ilya Samsonov and Joseph Woll will be the starting duo next season.
