Former Leaf Leaves NHL Team Due to Personal Reasons

This Chicago Blackhawks defenseman has left the team due to personal matters and has been removed from the active players roster.

Zaitsev Placed on Non-Roster List Due to Personal Matter

As reported by Ben Pope, the Chicago Blackhawks have placed Nikita Zaitsev on the Non-Roster list for personal reasons. Zaitsev has played in 5 games this year with the Blackhawks.



The Blackhawks have called up defender Filip Roos to replace Zaitsev in the near term.

Blackhawks Defense Looks Different With Zaitsev Out

With Zaitsev being out, and Tinordi being out with an oblique injury, the Blackhawks' defense will look significantly different tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This will make it even more difficult for the Blackhawks to try and gain some ground and move up in the standings. The Blackhawks are currently sitting at 5-8 and near the bottom of the Central Division.
