Fans calling for suspension for Bennett after sucker punching Marchand
Boston Bruins fans are calling for a suspension to Sam Bennett after sucker punching Brad Marchand in game three between the Panthers and the Bruins.
Bennett didn't waste too much time before having an impact on his return to the line up. He was injured in the series against the Tampa Bay Lightning and was forced to miss a few games.
In the first period of the game, Bennett made a dirty play on the Bruins' captain Brad Marchand, which eventually forced him to return to the locker room.
Marchand skated with speed towards Bennett, and as he braced for the hit, Bennett sucker punched him in the face.
Must read on Daily Hockey Dose
"Marchand appeared to be in some pain after taking a hit from Bennett."
Take a look at another angle, showing Bennett's dity play in a much more clear way:
"Sam Bennett throwing a little rabbit punch at Brad Marchand during last night's Game 3 between the Panthers and Bruins.
Another really bad look for a Panthers forward."
If Marchand is injured and misses some games, the Bruins' chances of beating the Panthers in the series would take a big hit.
The NHL should announce today if they decide to punish Bennett for his dirty play. Stay tuned.
