Suspect Arrested in Relation to Adam Johnson's Tragic Death
Earlier this week, South Yorkshire Police revealed the arrest of an unidentified individual, presumed to be Matt Petgrave, a forward for the Sheffield Steelers. He is suspected of manslaughter in relation to the tragic passing of Adam Johnson, a forward for the Nottingham Panthers, last month.
"A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson, whose neck was cut during a match.
The Nottingham Panthers player was injured by a skate in a match against Sheffield Steelers on 28 October.
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination confirmed he died as a result of a fatal neck injury, South Yorkshire Police said.
The force said detectives arrested the suspect on Tuesday, adding that he remained in custody."

Finn Elmo Aittola, who served as an assistant coach for HK Spisska Nova Ves in the Slovak Extraliga during Petgrave's 34-game tenure in the 2021-22 season, has openly criticized Petgrave's conduct.
