Both Patrice Bergeron and Jeremy Swayman were missing from the Bruins' practice today, leading to much speculation and concern among fans.
Boston Bruins General Manager, Don Sweeney, addressed the situation after practice, confirming that Bergeron was indeed dealing with both an injury and an illness.
"If he feels better, he'll play."
With Bergeron's status for Game 1 now uncertain, the Bruins will have to adapt and rely on their depth to take on the Florida Panthers. While the Panthers might not be considered the toughest competition, losing the leadership and skill of a player like Patrice Bergeron could make a significant impact on the Bruins' performance.
