BREAKING: The Winnipeg Jets are set to let go of Star Player
The Winnipeg Jets have decided to buy out the final year of Blake Wheeler's contract ending his time with the organization that goes back to when they were in Atlanta
Blake Wheeler has spent most of his career with the Winnipeg Jets organization. He joined them back in 2010 when they were still the Atlanta Thrashers and has been with them through thick and thin.
However, his time with the Jets will end early and abruptly with them buying out the final year of his $8.25 million contract.

They will be paying him $5.5 million over the course of the next two years having a total of $2.75 million.
Wheeler is coming off a 55 point season and will likely garner a lot of interest on the free agency market.
