Jon Cooper gives Lightning players an ultimatum after going down 3-0
Tampa Bay Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper gave his players an interesting ultimatum after dropping another game to the Panthers and going down 3-0 in the series.
The Florida Panthers were definitely the favourites heading into the series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, however, no one thought it would be this one-sided. The Lightning have failed to win a game, and are now at risk of being swept by the Panthers. The hole they have dug seems impossible to come out of, however, Jon Cooper shared a different message with his players after the loss. Here is what he had to say.
"The big talk was, we have to believe and show up to the rink tomorrow. If you're not gonna believe, you don't have to come, so let's see how many guys show up tomorrow." Cooper said.

While it remains extremely unlikely that the Lightning will be able to come back from a 3-0 deficit in the series, Cooper knows that his players are competitors. And competitors like this don't shy away from a massive challenge.
It is hard to imagine the Lightning being swept, though, as it was just a few years ago when they went back-to-back in winning a Stanley Cup Championship in 2020 and 2021. This could mark the end of a dynasty.
We will see if they can start the comeback as they are set to play tomorrow evening for game 4.
