Simon Benoit receives life-changing news during playoffs

Simon Benoit from the Toronto Maple Leafs is having quite a year in the NHL, and now there's some big news in his life. Alice Desaulnier just shared on Instagram a baby bump photo, tagging Simon Benoit in the post.

Benoit, in his fourth NHL season and first with the Leafs, has been making his mark.


Benoit's been around the NHL for four years, and this season, he's suiting up for the Leafs for the first time. So far, he's played 64 games, scoring just one goal and four assists, totaling five points. Offense isn't his thing. What he brings to the ice is a solid physical game, racking up 54 penalty minutes. And defensively, he's been holding his own with a +7 rating.



In the playoffs, he's been a regular on the ice for the Leafs, although he hasn't found the back of the net yet. With four penalty minutes to his name, he's been contributing in other ways. Right now, the Leafs are trailing 2-1 in their series against the Boston Bruins, but they're aiming to even the score at two apiece.
