The Tampa Bay Lightning shared some important news earlier today.

Lightning to Terminate Contract

In a recent statement, the team announced their decision to place Josh Archibald on waivers with the intention of terminating his contract.

Here is the official statement:

We have placed forward Josh Archibald on waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

"Yesterday, I was informed by Josh's agent, and by Josh himself in a subsequent conversation, that he was not planning on playing hockey for the time being and that he would not be reporting to training camp. Consequently, Josh was placed on unconditional waivers earlier today for the purpose of terminating his contract.

We wish Josh, his wife Bailey, and their entire family the very best in their future endeavors." - Julien BriseBois

Merely months after sealing a two-year contract with the Lightning, Archibald has declared his intention to step away from hockey wouldn't take part in the upcoming training camp.

Although the specifics surrounding his choice remain undisclosed, we can only hope that nothing severe is impeding his return to the game and that he will be prepared to make a comeback soon!
