After another disappointing playoff run in Toronto, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Kyle Dubas mutually decided to part ways. However, to the surprise of many, Dubas was promptly appointed as the President of Hockey Operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Initially, the duration of Dubas' tenure with the Penguins remained uncertain, leaving people wondering if Dubas was in it for the long haul.
