During Thursday night's game, Calgary Flames' Martin Pospisil got into some hot water for throwing a nasty elbow right to the head of Winnipeg Jets' Josh Morrissey. It happened with just 43 seconds left in the second period. As Morrissey was skating up the ice, Pospisil blindsided him with that elbow shot.

At first, the refs only called it a minor penalty, but after checking the replay, they saw it was a direct hit to the head and upgraded it to a major penalty and a game misconduct. So, Pospisil was kicked out of the game. And get this, it's not his first rodeo this season. Back in March, he got a three-game suspension for another dangerous hit on Seattle's Vince Dunn. Winnipeg ended up winning the game 5-2.
Pospisil had some words about that earlier suspension. He said he's still learning the ropes in the league and it was a good lesson for him. He promised to be smarter in the future
He even expressed regret for injuring Dunn and wished him a speedy recovery. Sitting out games isn't easy for him either, he wants to be out there helping the team. But despite the suspensions, he's been pretty solid this season, with eight goals and 20 points in 55 games.
The 24 year-old Slovakian was drafted by the Flames in the fourth round (108th overall) at the 2018 NHL Draft, and signed a two year $2 million deal in Febuary.
