The OHL playoffs are underway, and if a key series between Kitchener and Erie were to go beyond five games, they've made an intriguing shift to the schedule.

In their first round playoff series, the Kitchener Rangers currently lead the Erie Otters by a score of 2-1, but were the series to be required to go to games six and seven, the league have now issues a statement on a major change.

The #OHL has announced two scheduling changes affecting potential sixth and seventh games between the Kitchener Rangers and Erie Otters should their ongoing first round #OHLPlayoffs series require them as necessary.

According to an official CHL report, the reason behind this is that the City of Erie expect upwards of 250,000 people to be in the city during the Total Solar Eclipse, with the issues surrounding travel, traffic and lodging the main reason behind this move. With the Rangers, led by several top NHL prospects dominating their two victories in this series, there's a chance that it may only take five games for Kitchener to pick up the series win, but if not, with games six and seven now shifted to April 9th and 10th if necessary.

The series however is still expected to be a very competitive one, and with the OHL looking to do their best to get the best possible atmosphere and fanbase in the arena, it makes perfect sense to shift these games as they look to put on the best product possible in the playoffs.
