While many around the Maple Leafs are focused on Auston Matthews incredible campaign, the same can't be said for Head Coach Sheldon Keefe.

All season long there have been fans and analysts lauding the accomplishments of Auston Matthews, and after he hit goal No. 62 recently, the early season predictions of 70 may ultimately come true. It would be the first time in almost 30 years that someone accomplished that feat, but when asked about it in an interview, Sheldon Keefe seemingly brushed it aside, with much, much larger goals in mind.
«I'm not concerned about 70 goals at all. I'm concerned about having him and our team ready to go for playoffs.» —Sheldon Keefe
With the team rolling despite the absences of Morgan Rielly and Mitch Marner, Matthews has stepped up in a big way, so while the team may want to get him a break before the playoffs, having him continue the momentum may be the best way to go about it. Keefe doesn't confirm that he'll potentially rest any of their top stars ahead of the playoffs, but he seemingly hints that it could be a possibility, and with so much pressure on the shoulders of this team, it's tough to say what the best move is.
Ultimately though, it appears as though Matthews will continue his chase for 70 goals as the team keep on winning in impressive fashion, and with Rielly and Marner both set to return in the near future, this team could be very dangerous when the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin.
