The Toronto Maple Leafs' defenseman Joel Edmundson made his first appearance on the ice since he got injured just over a week ago.

Indeed, he was seen at the team's morning skate earlier today, as the Leafs prepare to play against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
From David Alter:
Joel Edmundson is on the ice for the Leafs optional skate. First time we've seen him on the ice since his injury.
He was placed on the Injury Reserve by the Leafs on March 26th, limiting him to a mere seven games with his new team. However, he performed well in these games, tallying a plus-4 rating with the Leafs.
The organization didn't disclose the nature of his injury, as we often see around this time of the year. Teams will use any means necessary to win in the playoffs, including targeting injured players.
If the Leafs want to have a fully healthy roster at the start of the playoffs, they shouldn't rush any player to return, and that includes Mitch Marner, who's been away for almost a month now.
With Edmundson and Marner healthy for the start of the playoffs, it should give the Leafs an edge. We can't wait to see how this situation unfolds.
