A Change-Up for the Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres are on the brink of a major transformation, set to unfold in the coming days.
According to an anonymous insider known as Eklund, the Sabres are edging closer to acquiring a top-tier goaltender, with the potential trade scheduled for this upcoming weekend.
"Sabres Closing in on a 'serious goalie' THIS Weekend. This is from a source... The names, I would imagine, are limited to likely Hellebuyck or Logan Thompson. Stay tuned"

The Sabres, harbouring playoff aspirations for the current season, are currently placing their faith in rookie netminder Devon Levi to lead them to success. Securing an experienced goaltender could significantly boost their chances of a successful campaign.

Will it be Logan Thompson or Connor Hellebuyck?

As previously mentioned, Eklund has singled out Logan Thompson and Connor Hellebuyck as the primary candidates for this crucial goaltender role.
Logan Thompson, the current goaltender for the Vegas Golden Knights and a Stanley Cup champion from the previous season, appears unlikely to be traded by the Golden Knights. Their limited cap space and Thompson's cost-effective contract make him a valuable asset in Vegas.
On the other hand, trade rumors have swirled around Connor Hellebuyck throughout the summer. Allegedly seeking a change of scenery, Hellebuyck desires to leave Winnipeg, but the Jets are patiently waiting for the right trade offer before parting ways with him.
The big question remains: Do the Buffalo Sabres possess the necessary assets to persuade the Winnipeg Jets to trade away Connor Hellebuyck?
