Despite signing him to a long-term extension, it appears the Carolina Hurricanes could be looking to move Jesperi Kotkaniemi in exchange for one of the leagues most explosive players.

While Kotkaniemi has been solid for Carolina, scoring 42 points in his first two seasons with the team, the team have lofty goals in mind, and this could come at the expense of a young, talented player.


With a relatively cheap deal that pays him $4.8 million over the next eight years, Kotkaniemi could be a solid get for a young team, and now, he has been linked to the San Jose Sharks in a trade that could clear up space and help the team land Erik Karlsson.
