TSN's parent company, Bell Media, has addressed the unexplained absence of popular radio host and retired NHL player Jeff O'Neill, who has been missing from the airwaves for several days. O'Neill co-hosts OverDrive on TSN 1050 alongside Brian Hayes and Jamie MacLellan.

Last Week's Missing Appearances and Temporary Replacement

O'Neill was absent from the show for several days last week, with no explanation provided. After the weekend break, Hayes and MacLellan returned on Monday, with former NHL player Frank Corrado stepping in as a temporary host. O'Neill's absence went unmentioned.

The Athletic reached out to Bell Media for an official statement on the situation.

Bell Media's Brief Response

Bell Media provided a short response, stating that O'Neill was "on leave" from his position, with a spokesperson declining to provide any further details. The Athletic also attempted to contact O'Neill directly but received no response.

Jeff O'Neill's Background at TSN and NHL Career

O'Neill joined TSN as a radio host in 2013 and became a member of the OverDrive crew in 2019. As a former NHL player, he played 821 regular-season games, including his last two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs. O'Neill scored 237 goals and accumulated 496 points throughout his career.
