Tonight during his press conference Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe revealed that Timothy Liljegren has suffered an injury. After being projected to play tonight he will now miss significant time.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have once again been hit by the injury bug. Heading into tonight's game the Maple Leafs announced that defenseman Timothy Liljegren would miss the game due to injury. This came as a major surprise to all as he skated earlier in the day and was projected to play.
Instead, veteran defenseman Mark Giordano was activated by the Maple Leafs from long-term injured reserve. His return to the lineup would end up being a great thing as the Maple Leafs would win the game 5-1 including a goal from Mark Giordano in his return.
After the game ended the media and fans waited patiently for Sheldon Keefe to come to the podium Once he made his way there he was immediately faced with questions about the injury suffered by Timothy Liljegren.

Sheldon Keefe addressed the strange situation surrounding Timothy Liljegren. While Sheldon Keefe did not reveal the injury he confirmed that Timothy Liljegren would be out for a while.
Timothy Liljegren is going to «miss some time,» per Keefe.
This information still does not confirm the sudden nature of the decision or injury. The injury to Timothy Liljegren is just the latest blow to the defensive unti as Morgan Rielly and Joel Edmundson have also been dealing with injuries as of late.
