We now know Alex Ovechkin's timeline and who he will end his career with and it's not the Washington Capitals.

Alex Ovechkin has two more years on his five-year $9.5M annual contract, and, according to recent reports, he doesn't plan on finishing his hockey career in Washington, instead, in the KHL with Dynamo Moscow of the KHL.

Per former Dynamo Moscow assistant coach Vladimir Fedosov, Alex Ovechkin may spend several years at the end of his career with Dynamo.
"He said himself that he would finish his career in Dynamo... the white-and-blue fans can definitely sleep easy. If Alexander's health is good, he will be able to play until the age of 45,"

Pretty certain this scenario will only happen when Alex Ovechkin finally beats the all time goal scoring record in the NHL, held by the greatest player to ever play, Wayne Gretzky. The Capitals captain is currently 42 goals away from reaching the infamous plateau.
