Pending UFA forward and 3-time Stanley Cup champion Patrick Kane has been linked to the Vegas Golden Knights ahead of free agency.

Since his first NHL season in 2007-2008, Patrick Kane has been one of the leagues best players, scoring an astonishing 1284 points on 1230 games playing for the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, and Detroit Red Wings.
With Kane set to hit free agency on July 1st, many contending teams will be vying for his services, and one of those teams happens to be the Vegas Golden Knights.
Due to his age and declining defensive performance the past few seasons, Kane should come with a cheaper price tag than re-signing Chandler Stephenson or Johnathan Marchessault, making him a desirable target for a Vegas team that looks to be in a cap crunch.
Kane is coming off of a season where he recorded 47 points in 50 games with the Red Wings, just barely missing on the playoffs on the last day of the season. Kane's injury history and lack of defensive prowess may be cause for concerns for any team wishing to sign him.
Should Kane move on from Detroit, Vegas is sure to be a top team in the Patrick Kane sweepstakes come July 1st.
