In just his first two NHL games, rookie Matthew Knies has already made a splash by scoring his first point. As expected, he's experienced a few hiccups along the way, but nothing too serious.

While netting that first point in the NHL is a significant achievement fans will long remember, Knies made an additional impression that's also likely to stick in people's minds.

Knies Takes a Jab at the Lightning and The Amalie Arena

During a press conference, Knies didn't hold back when expressing his disdain for the Lightning and their home ice, Amalie Arena.
It's worth noting that just a week prior, Knies experienced a heartbreaking loss in the NCAA championship game in overtime at the very same arena, marking the end of his college career.
Here's what he had to say:
Matthew Knies, reflecting on his return to the arena where his Minnesota Golden Gophers suffered an OT loss in the national championship game:

"To be honest with you, I don't like this rink. It kind of stinks."

This bold remark from the young player isn't something the Lightning will easily forget, and they may make him regret it if he ends up facing them in a playoff game.
It's still uncertain whether Coach Keefe will include Knies in the post-season lineup, but it wouldn't be a shock to see him play at least once.
