Friedman Reports That Former Eastern Conference GM Favored to Land the Job in Toronto
On the 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman dropped some massive news regarding who could be the next GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Marc Bergevin is a very interesting candidate for the Leafs and he would be a controversial pick if the Leafs pick him up.
Bergevin's History In Montreal
Must read on Daily Hockey Dose
Bergevin has made many solid moves but his poor moves are the most alarming. The poor moves usually involve his first-round draft picks.
Drafting Alex Galchenyuk and Jesperi Kotkaniemi 3rd overall was certainly a poor decision. Drafting Logan Mailloux in the first round as well was another very questionable move from Bergevin. Finally, trading Mikhail Sergachev for Jonathan Drouin was another very poor move on his part.
While he has made some bad moves, he has also made good moves like trading for Nick Suzuki and drafting Cole Caufield.
With a very sporadic record in Montreal, it can be determined that if Bergevin goes to Toronto, he will either win them a cup or ruin the team.
