Four Contenders Emerge To Land Interview For The Leafs Gm

Brendan Shanahan, President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, faces the task of rebuilding after deciding not to retain Kyle Dubas as the General Manager. This decision, although surprising to some, was seen as understandable by others, especially considering years of consistent disappointment.

The question that naturally follows is:

Who will replace Dubas as the GM of Leafs Nation?

According to Hockey Insider Frank Seravalli, the Leafs have narrowed their search to four potential candidates who are believed to be proceeding to the interview stage.

These candidates include Jason Botterill, former GM of the Buffalo Sabres; Marc Bergevin, former GM of the Montreal Canadiens; Peter Chiarelli, former GM of the Edmonton Oilers; and Brad Treliving, former GM of the Calgary Flames.

From an outsider's perspective, not as a Leafs fan, I'd personally pick Treliving as my top choice. Given the success he achieved in Calgary, I believe he would be an excellent choice for a major hockey market like Toronto.
