Major Update For Andre Vasilevskiy's Injury

The lightning have been without their most important player, Andre Vasilevskiy, so far to start the season. While the team has managed to tread water and Jonas Johansson has been very solid for the team, getting Vasilevskiy back would be a huge boon to the club.

Vasilevskiy Spotted At Practice

This morning the goaltender was spotted practicing with his teammates ahead of the Lightning's next game against Seattle. The Lightning reposted this clip of their star goalie practicing on X.




Of course, this does not necessarily mean Vasilevskiy is ready to return, but it is a step in the right direction. The goaltender underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back early into training camp this year and was expected to miss the first two months of the season. That was just under a month ago though so he appears to making good progress.


The team has not provided any official updates on Vasilevskiy's status. However, many were surprised to see him practicing so soon after the procedure. Perhaps he may even be ahead of schedule.
