Kraken Facing Lawsuit Over Winter Classic Jerseys
The Seattle Kraken are gearing up for the Winter Classic this year, and they recently unveiled their Winter Classic Jerseys. Winter Classic Jerseys are commonly used to celebrate a team's history, and that is what the Kraken tried to do, honouring the Seattle Metropolitans.
However, the issue is that the Kraken doesn't own the trademark for the old Metropolitan logos, and the owner believes they have infringed on the copyright.
NEW from @GeoffBakerTIMES: A lawsuit filed against the Kraken's ownership in U.S. District Court alleges that the Kraken violated trademark rights in the design of their NHL Winter Classic jerseys.
Clearly, there are some issues that need to be worked out, however, it will be interesting to see how the issue plays out with the Winter Classic approaching.
