Konstantin Koltsov's passing has shocked the hockey world, and now his long-time girlfriend Aryna Sabalenka has broken her silence on the matter.

It was recently announced that Konstantin Koltsov had sadly passed away from taking his own life, shocking the hockey world as everyone immediately grieved the passing of the Pittsburgh Penguins' former 18th overall pick. While the details of the death were slowly revealed, the story only got more heartbreaking, as it was first thought that he had passed from a blood clot, then it was revealed that he had taken his life.

Now, Konstantin Koltsov's longtime girlfriend Aryna Sabalenka has taken to social media to release a statement on the matter.



Aryna Sabalenka is a women's tennis star and a member of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Her statement revealed that she and Konstantin Koltsov were no longer together when the passing occurred, something not fully known by the public.

Konstantin Koltsov had a brief career in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins after being drafted 18th overall by the club. He played in 144 NHL games, scoring 12 goals with 26 assists. Later, he would go on to play in the KHL, appearing in 375 games and recording 43 goals with 73 assists.
