In the Leafs versus Capitals game last night, Tom Wilson had a violent high stick on Noah Gregor, prompting immediate regret.

Tom Wilson is a notable tough guy in the NHL, and has found himself in some trouble in the past for some dirty plays. While last night's game between the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs was fairly clean, Wilson still managed to get himself a major penalty for high sticking.
The high stick looks somewhat intentional, though it is impossible to tell, and that has caused some concern that Wilson should receive additional punishment.
The Leafs were able to dominate the Capitals the entire night, led by Toronto's top line of Max Domi and Auston Matthews, who had an electric night. Matthews had 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points, with one goal called back.
Domi, who hasn't been the most productive this year, has found his way and had 4 assists on the night. The statement win came when the Leafs needed it, after dropping some disappointing games over the past few weeks and changing their lineup significantly.
