Blackhawks star defenseman Seth Jones linked to the Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs were once more eliminated from the playoffs this past weekend, and now they're already being linked to big moves this summer.

Despite pushing the Bruins to seven games in their first round series, the Toronto Maple Leafs once again fell short, and after years of failure, it's likely time for them to make a big move. Goaltending may be their biggest need, as well as a change in coach, but if the team can't find a top pairing defenseman to go along with Morgan Rielly, their off-season will be a major failure.

Now, top NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has suggested that perhaps Seth Jones could be the player that the Maple Leafs target this summer to improve their blue line woes.





Given his cap hit, it's likely that the team would need to move one of their top assets, potentially like Mitch Marner to make this deal happen, and with so much of their cap dedicated to their forward group, a move like that would make perfect sense.


This move has already been suggested on social media, and while Leafs fans don't appear too excited about it, they need to make some type of splash, so keep an eye on this one as the summer draws near.
