The New York Rangers placed a veteran who played almost 900 games in the NHL on waivers earlier this afternoon.
New York Rangers Place Veteran Nick Bonino on Waivers to Terminate His Contract, Per Elliotte Friedman
Nick Bonino was placed on waivers by the New York Rangers on Tuesday afternoon. According to Elliotte Friedman, the organization wants to terminate his contract.
"Nick Bonino (NYR) on unconditional waivers for purposes of contract termination"
Unfortunately for him, this could be the end of his NHL career.
Bonino, 35, scored only five points in 45 games this season with the Rangers.
More developments are expected concerning his future. He could sign a contract in the NHL before the trade deadline, but considering the struggles he had this season, it's not likely to happen.
