Evander Kane had to deal with a racist act and shared the video his friend took of the encounter on social media.
According to the video that was shared, Kane and his friend encountered an act of racism as they were just driving by a bicyclist on the road.
In addition to spitting on Kane's vehicle, the man in the video then told them that "You people do not belong here". Clearly this act of racism was disgusting and another friend of Kane who can be seen in the video, tried to peacefully end this encounter.

Once the man notices the video is being taken, he decides to no longer argue with Kane and his friends.
The cyclist was riding his bike past my vehicle and decided to spit on it as he rode by. And then confronted him as he tried to deny the claim luckily a friend of mine who was driving in the area, pulled over to intervene in our conversation. This gentleman then proceeded to tell me and my friend and I quote ‘you people don't belong here.' It's incredibly disappointing there are still people like this today.
It is a shame that another has to deal with this type of racism. An athlete like Kane who works to bring joy to thousands of local fans and many more around the world is not immune to this behavior and has the platform to let it be heard.
On an NHL note, Kane is also dealing with an injury that could have him sidelined for the start of the NHL season. The hope is that he will be back in action soon for the Oilers.
