Ever since this summer began for the Rangers, one question has hung over the entire NHL, where will three-time Stanley Cup Champion Patrick Kane end up next?

Plenty of contenders

Throughout the ensuing months, we've seen almost every contender in the league from Edmonton, Colorado, New York, New Jersey, Buffalo and even Florida linked to the former Blackhawks star.

The race has been somewhat narrowed down as of late, and now, according to Frank Seravalli, a surprising team has now become a genuine option for Kane.

A surprising team emerges

In his latest report, Seravalli has linked Kane to the Detroit Red Wings, as the team have a genuine desire to link him with Alex DeBrincat, who was their key off-season acquisition this summer.

I'll toss you a third team. This is by no means an exhaustive list; these are not the only teams on Kane's radar. I'll give you another thought that those close to him have noticed he's been keeping an eye on. That's the Detroit Red Wings. Certainly, a surprise to me when I first heard it, but I have to tell you that the idea of getting Kane and Alex DeBrincat relinked has stood out to many. But the Red Wings are another team; let's see how this season develops before we make any judgments.

Whether or not it happens is yet to be seen, but with their young talent, if the Red Wings can get a fully healthy Kane on this roster, they could make some genuine noise in 2023-24.
