The Bruins organization shared a statement on X that revealed the tragic passing of Blaine Lacher, a goaltender who had a short NHL stint in the '90's.
"The Boston Bruins are deeply saddened by the passing of former goalie Blaine Lacher. We send our thoughts and condolences to his family, friends, and teammates."
He's also remembered by the Lake Superior State University, where he played when he was younger.
"Lake Superior State University (LSSU) mourns the loss of hockey alum and NCAA national champion goaltender Blaine Lacher who passed away earlier this week at the age of 53.

Lacher was a member of LSSU's 1994 national championship team, and he was named to the 1994 NCAA All-Tournament Team. During the 1993-94 season, Lacher set the NCAA shutout streak record with 375 minutes and one second without allowing a goal, a record that still stands to this day."
We send our condolences to his friends and family.
