Juolevi, selected by Vancouver 5th Overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, was the #5 ranked North American skater in 2016 according to NHL Central Scouting. Playing for the OHL London Knights, Juolevi had been a decent two-way defender, but rose to prominence following a strong WJC for Finland, tied with Zach Werenski for 1st in Defensemen PTS with 9.
Injuries have plagued Juolevi, who despite his talent, has only played 41 career NHL Games, suffering multiple setbacks including a knee injury and a hip injury in his rookie year, struggling to recover coming back. Juolevi spent parts of the 21-22 season on IR with Florida and Detroit.
Also released by the Coyotes from PTO's were Austin Strand, Ryan Dzingel & Patrick Harper.
