After Potocka completed her 200-meter individual medley at the France Olympic games, other swimmers noticed that she was in distress pool side.
When she exited the water, she collapsed. Potocka is just 21 years old, and was taken directly to a hospital as the Paris Olympic fans looked on in shock.
She was competing against Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh when she finished in 7th place. According to TVA sports website, she "fell like a rock".

"Tamara has asthma," Slovakia's team leader, Ivana Lange, said in a statement. "This whole combination of nervous and physical tension while she did not have her inhaler immediately available to use contributed to the creation of this problem.
"She received oxygen and necessary medication; her condition is constantly monitored. A few minutes ago, the doctor told me that she must be monitored for several more hours."
Potocka was seen in the pool appearing to be in distress, looking like she was having difficulty breathing.
Swimmer Tamara Potocka was seen sitting poolside for a few seconds in clear distress, even as swimmers lined up for the next heat.
Organisers realised something was wrong and postponed the next swim as medical staff descended on the scene.
Some good news to hear that she has been able to communicate.
The Slovakian Olympic team has confirmed to

that the cause of the collapse was an asthma attack. She has since been given oxygen therapy and during the procedure has communicated.
We hope for the better for this Olympic swimmer, more updates are sure to follow on her condition.
