Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens made many moves this offseason.

They've managed to get rid of bad contracts and it looks like Carey Price could be the next to go.

Is Price on the Trading Block?

Trade speculations revealed that GM Kent Hughes might be looking to make a move involving Price's $10.5M AAV contract.
Carey Price has three years left on his contract at a $10.5 million cap hit. Most of the owed to him is covered under insurance, but it's not easy to move that contract.

«I think there's always a possibility to do things,» Hughes said. «I don't know what that looks like, and I don't know ultimately if that ever happens, but I certainly wouldn't describe it as an impossibility.» - Kent Hughes

Hughes might just make the deal if the right one comes knocking.

Price's Future

Price hasn't played at all last season, and hasn't returned to his number one role since the Habs went to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2021.
Getting rid of his contract would give more wiggle room for Hughes to sign the young players coming up or free agents next summer.
The Habs' current goaltending unit isn't so bad, with Samuel Montembeault, Jake Allen, and Case DeSmith.
However, it's likely that DeSmith will be traded.
Do you think Price will be traded?
