Knights Player Rumoured to Want Out Just One Year After Winning Cup
Even when things appear to be good, and your team just won the Stanley Cup, it might not always be sunshine and rainbows. As it turns out for Vegas, this could be the case as well, as this surprising Vegas Golden Knights player is rumoured to want a trade, not even a year after winning the cup.
According to one NHL trade rumour, Logan Thompson is rumoured to be requesting a trade out of Vegas just a few months after winning the Stanley Cup with the team.
Must read on Daily Hockey Dose
Thompson is a young goaltender who split meaningful time last season with the Knights, playing 37 games and recording 21 wins with 13 losses and an impressive .915 save percentage.
Just from the inherent smaller size of the goaltender trade market, sometimes it can be difficult to move goalies on a whim. However, Thompson would certainly be considered a high-value target, especially as teams continue to follow the trend of splitting games evenly between a 1a and 1b goalie duo.
Thompson could be looking for a fresh start with a new club, or even looking to take over the true number 1 spot for a team. Either way, it will take a large bid to get the reigning Cup Champs to move their high-value asset.
