RUMOR: Ducks, Canadiens Working On Blockbuster Trade

Trevor Zegras's relationship with the ducks has seemingly fallen off the rails. In the offseason, GM Pat Verbeek refused to give him a significant contract offer, with Zegras finally settling for a three-year bridge deal with a 5.75 million dollar cap hit. Now rumors that the Ducks are looking to trade him are starting to solidify.

Canadiens Talking With Ducks About Zegras

Rumors of Zegras going to Montreal have existed for some time as the Ducks star forward has been spotted hanging out with Cole Caufield and Martin St. Louis. When it came out that Zegras and the Ducks were having contentious contract negotiations this summer, these rumors intensified. After the contract was signed discussions of a trade settled down again but now that Zegras has gotten off to a poor start, the rumor mill is back in full production mode.

Zegras Benched For Entire 3rd Period

In the Duck's last game Zegras was benched late in the second period due to not playing in the defensive zone and failing to produce offensively. Zegras has just one point through seven games this year.





Zegras is a young forward on a very reasonable contract. He should still have a ton of value as a trade asset so perhaps we may see a Zegras trade after all.
