Journalist Mark Scheig (via Mike Greenberg on ESPN) has reported that the man responsible for the deaths of the Gaudreau brothers has officially been charged for his heinous crimes.
Higgins caused a huge stir when a video of him was leaked, as he appeared to be exasperated that he was being held in jail until the following Thursday, a fraction of the time he will spend in prison for what he did to Johnny and Matthew.

Sean Higgins is facing two counts each of driving under the influence (DUI) and death by auto. Death by auto is punishable by up to 10 years in jail, meaning Higgins is looking at up to 20 years in prison, and that's without even factoring in his DUI charge, which is not his first DUI charge on record.
Tragedies like this one are completely avoidable, as mentioned by Charles-Alexis Brisebois.
«After all, even though drunk driving is a scourge that is taken more seriously than before, it remains something that can easily be avoided but isn't always.
The message we must take from all of this is that there are solutions instead of driving while intoxicated.»
Senseless, unimaginable tragedies like this one occur every day all across the world, and with Uber and Taxi services being more prominent than they have ever been, action must be taken to prevent further incidents like this from occurring.
Drinking and driving is never the answer.
