NHL officially reveal outrageous prices for their new Fanatics jersey's
The NHL has partnered with Fanatics, and while it was never a popular decision, fans are even more outraged after learning the price of those jersey's.
Fanatics have been taking over the sports world in North America for years now, and unfortunately for the fans, that now includes the NHL, with the top hockey league in the world pairing with Fanatics for a 10-year partnership. That move has come under immense criticism, and now that the pricing has officially been revealed, the backlash for the NHL is just getting worse.
Despite the quality likely to drop off, prices have gone up from a year ago, with Insider David Pagnotta noting that the prices will be as follows;
Breakaway: $135 USD / $160CAD for blank and $175 USD / $200 CAD for name & number)
Premium: $180 USD / $200 CAD for blank and $230 USD / $250 CAD for name and number
Authentic Pro: $425USD / $500 CAD
Unsurprisingly, the fan reaction to this report hasn't been good, with many calling to Fanatics lack of quality control and overall quality as the reason that this jump in price is highly unacceptable.
Unfortunately for the fans, the NHL are committed to the partnership for the next decade, so the most they can hope for is that the NHL force a major improvement in quality, because if that doesn't happen, there's a very good chance that sales across the league go down in the coming years.
