Today a suspension has been announced for Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy. The discipline comes after a dangerous hit he laid out on Connor McDavid.

The Vancouver Canucks won Game 3 against the Edmonton Oilers. Despite their win, it comes with a cost as defenseman Carson Soucy has been suspended. He has been suspended for an incredibly dangerous hit to the neck of Connor McDavid just after the final whistle of Game 3.

Carson Soucy will have a hearing after this cross-check to Connor McDavid at the end of Game 3

It was announced just a day after the incident that both Nikita Zadorov and Carson Soucy would be facing discipline for the incident. While Nikita Zadorov escaped with just a fine Carson Soucy was subjected to a phone hearing with the Department of Player Safety.

Phone hearing for #Canucks Carson Soucy and a $5,000 fine for Nikita Zadorov.

After that phone hearing it has now been determined that Carson Soucy will be suspended for one game.

With the suspension being handed down by the NHL the Vancouver Canucks will now need to find a way to fill the massive hole left in the lineup while Carson Soucy is out. With Game 4 on the horizon it will be interesting to see what the Canucks plan ends up being.
